Woodstock, NY (March 4, 2014)The Woodstock Film Festival is proud to present the 3rd Annual Spirit of Woodstock Celebration on Saturday, April 26 at 7pm. The gala event will honor Markertek founder and CEO Mark Braunstein for his entrepreneurship, innovation, his spirit of giving back, and bringing economic development to the Hudson Valley. The late Levon Helm will also be honored with the 2014 Spirit of Woodstock Award. It will be presented to his daughter, Amy Helm; to his widow, Sandy Helm; and to Barbara O'Brien, who runs Levon's Midnight Ramble.

The beautiful Emerson Resort in Mt. Tremper, NY will host this special evening, which will also include a silent auction, complimentary wine and beer, and full dinner.

"It is such a privilege to honor two of the most beloved and influential individuals in the Hudson Valley," stated Woodstock Film Festival Executive Director, Meira Blaustein. "Mark Braunstein has been giving generously to organizations and projects in the Hudson Valley long before the Woodstock Film Festival was ever conceived. He is truly one of the foremost pillars of the Hudson Valley, and we are thrilled to recognize his countless contributions in this modest way." Blaustein added that "Levon Helm's renowned musical gifts have been paralleled with his strong sense of community, and though he passed two years ago his memory lives forever. We feel fortunate to offer this recognition to those who were closest to him."

GrammyAward nominated singer/songwriter Robbie Dupree will join the festivities as a special award presenter.

The Spirit of Woodstock Award celebrates the roots of the Hudson Valley — its natural beauty, iconoclasts, art, culture and the river that flows through and connects it. It is an annual award given to individuals who have made significant contributions to the Hudson Valley in the areas of arts and culture, politics, innovation or economic development. Previous Spirit of Woodstock award honorees were Woodstock concerts promoter Michael Lang and Congressman Maurice Hinchey. The event is a fundraiser for the Woodstock Film Festival.
