(Woodstock, NY) September 2014 - The 15th annual Woodstock Film Festival is proud to announce a special kick-off event featuring the WORLD PREMIERE of Erez Miller and Henrique Cymerman's feature documentary East Jerusalem/West Jerusalem. Filmmaker Erez Miller and two of the film's subjects, David Broza and Steve Earle, will partake in a Q&A following the screening. The Q&A will be followed by a live acoustic concert featuring David Broza and Steve Earle. The performance will feature songs from the East Jerusalem/West Jerusalem album and more. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, October 15 at the Woodstock Playhouse at 103 Mill Hill Road, Woodstock, NY. Tickets and details are available online at www.wff.pointinspace.com/events/2014ejwj.php

"It's been four years since I started working on the East Jerusalem/West Jerusalem project. It's hard to describe in one sentence the anticipation and sense of completion coming to this point and letting it all be seen and hopefully having it inspire as much as I have been while in the process. Thank you for giving me the opportunity," stated Broza.

At a time when Israelis and Palestinians seem hopelessly divided, renowned Israeli musician David Broza's new album East Jerusalem/West Jerusalem was created with such spirit of determined optimism that it's hard not to feel hopeful. Henrique Cymerman and Erez Miller's film documents the creation of Broza's album, produced by legendary American musician Steve Earle. The music is rich in converging sounds of Israeli, Palestinian, and American musicians.

David Broza has been considered one of the most dynamic and vibrant performers in the singer/songwriter world. His charismatic and energetic performances have brought to worldwide audiences, a fusion of the three different countries in which he was raised: Israel, Spain, and England, filling concert halls with his famous guitar playing, ranging from flamenco flavored rhythmic and percussion techniques, to whirlwind finger picking, to a signature rock and roll sound. Broza unites the three worlds by utilizing his ability to take on the troubadour tradition, up to now, featuring lyrics of the world's greatest poets.

More than a singer/songwriter, David Broza is also well-known for his commitment and dedication to several humanitarian causes, predominantly, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Beginning in 1977, Broza has been working to bring the message of peace to the masses by joining peace movements, and singing what has become the anthem of the Peace process, his hit song, 'Yihye Tov'. Broza was awarded a Spanish royal medal of honor, by the King of Spain, Juan Carlos I, for his longtime contribution to Israel-Spain relations and his promotion of tolerance. A protégé of legendary songwriters Townes Van Zandt and Guy Clark, Steve Earle quickly became a master storyteller in his own right, with his songs being recorded by Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Emmylou Harris, Waylon Jennings, Travis Tritt, The Pretenders, Joan Baez and countless others. 1986 saw the release of his debut record, Guitar Town, which shot to number one on the country charts and immediately established the term "New Country." What followed was an extremely exciting and varied array of releases including the biting hard rock of Copperhead Road (1988), the minimalist beauty of Train A Comin' (1995), the politically charged masterpiece, Jerusalem (2002) and the Grammy Award Winning albums The Revolution Starts…Now (2004), Washington Square Serenade (2007) and Townes (2009). I'll Never Get Out Of This World Alive (2011) is Steve Earle's 14th Studio Album and shares the same name with his 2011 debut novel. For more about Steve Earle, visit www.steveearle.com.

The screening will be preceded by a Cocktail Reception for Golden Circle ticket holders. All other ticket buyers will be admitted after Golden Circle ticket holders have been seated. Tickets and details are available online at www.wff.pointinspace.com/events/2014ejwj.php
