The Woodstock Film Festival is proud to announce the unveiling of its official 2014 poster by artist Michael DuBois. The poster was unveiled at a reception on Friday, August 8, from 5-9 pm at THE FILM CENTER, 13 Rock City Road, Woodstock, NY.

The artwork of Michael Dubois has been described as visionary, surrealistic and psychedelic. The WFF 2014 poster incorporates DuBois’ own unique style of artwork along with the feeling of the Woodstock Film Festival. The poster was hand-drawn by DuBois and colored digitally.

“I was happy to be asked to design the 15th Anniversary poster and help represent what I feel is an important cultural event in this region. I am excited to be part of it!” says DuBois. “For the WFF poster, I had to come up with something that I felt represented the film festival and Woodstock together, while reflecting my own artistic style. I tried to keep it an organic feeling with a Woodstock flair. I wanted to incorporate a literal representation of Woodstock, which is why I included the mountains and the wood in the tree. I also wanted to incorporate something about the WFF 15th Anniversary year, so I put XV in the roots.”

"We are thrilled to have Mike create the 15th Anniversary poster to represent this year's festival. His artwork encapsulates the independent spirit of the Woodstock Film Festival while reflecting that of Woodstock and its landscape," said Meira Blaustein, co-founder and executive director of the Woodstock Film Festival.

DuBois joins past poster artists for the Woodstock Film Festival which include Scott Michael Ackerman (2013), Bill Miller (2012), Kathy Ruttenberg (2011), Portia Munson (2010), Milton Glaser (2009), Karen Whitman(2008), Peter Max (2007), Tiziano Magni (2005), Bill Plympton (2002) and several others.

The poster is now available for viewing at THE FILM CENTER. Signed limited edition prints and posters, as well as t-shirts, hats and commemorative merchandise can be purchased at THE FILM CENTER or on the WFF website.

The Woodstock Film Festival will celebrate its 15th Anniversary, October 15-19, 2014, set in five Hudson Valley towns including Woodstock, Rhinebeck, Rosendale, Kingston and Saugerties.
