(Woodstock, NY) October 14, 2012- The 13th Annual firecely independent Woodstock Film Festival wrapped up Sunday night as guests enjoyed the final screenings of narratives, documentaries and shorts. Film lovers from all over attended nearly 130 films, concerts, panels and special events in Woodstock, Rhinebeck, Rosendale, Kingston and Saugerties. The Friday Night Filmmaker Party allowed for all WFF filmmakers to mingle and celebrate their achievement.

Saturday night's Maverick Award Gala, held at Backstage Studio Productions in the historical Stockade District of Kingston, honored the exceptional talent that was brought to the festival this year along with acclaimed Director Jonathan Demme, dancing along to Paul Green and his band of Monkey's rendition of "Burning Down the House," as well as Giving Back Award recipient Tim Blake Nelson's generous contribution to the 52nd Street Project.

"This year's festival showcased a particularly strong variety of films and filmmakers, all with compelling stories to tell, each in its own unique genre and style" said WFF executive director and co-founder Meira Blaustein. "With talented filmmakers and artists gathering together from all corners of the country and the world, intermingling with the local community of artists, the festival forms an intimate and nurturing environment conducive to networking, career opportunities and especially a good time."

WFF alumni directors include Rasmus Dinesen (WORLD'S FINEST CHEF), Barbara Kopple (FIGHT TO LIVE), Tom Donahue (CASTING BY), Mai Iskander (WORDS OF WITNESS), Jonathan Lysecki (GAYBY), Tom Gustafson (MARIACHI GRINGO), Sean Baker (STARLET), Alex Gibney (MEA MAXIMA CULPA), Jon Bowermaster (DEAR GOVERNOR CUOMO) and many more.

Attendees filed into venues around the Hudson Valley as local communities graciously opened their doors to festival-goers. A volunteer team of over 225 made this festival possible along with over 150 actors and filmmakers attending, filling the streets with activity and an exciting buzz.
