(Woodstock, NY) Sept 12, 2011: Woodstock Film Festival is honored to announce that the organization will once again be supported by the locally-run Waste Management (WM) division. As a donor, WM supplies two large containers and multiple recycling receptacles for each venue for this year’s Woodstock Film Festival. WM annually donates its services to encourage green responsibility among all festival attendees.

Festival attendees can now be encouraged to recycle their plastic and glass containers from concessions and recycle all their paper products. The Woodstock Film Festival is proud to be an environmentally-concious non-profit community member along with its partner Waste Management.

"We are so pleased to have the support of Waste Management year after year. Producing a film festival is a huge undertaking, and it helps to have community organizations like WM helping things run seamlessly. WM helps provide the tools to keep our carbon footprint as minimal as possible," said festival Operations Director Heidi Johnson.

North America’s largest recycler, WM provides collection and disposal services to over 20 million customers in communities and businesses in America, in addition to community outreach initiatives to minimize negative environmental impact.

"Waste Management is proud to donate container service to the Woodstock Film Festival.  We are proud to support cultural activities that benefit our community and the local economy,” said WM Community and Government Relations personnel, Rachel Amar.

The company processes waste into enough energy to power over 2 million homes, and provides over 20 “waste-to-energy” facilities and over 120 landfill “gas-to-energy” projects throughout the nation.
