SYNOPSIS:
In this Woodstock-based, Noir-Thriller, director Sarah Pirozek presents a tale that is equal parts shocking and relevant. #LIKE shines a light on the more disturbing aspects of modern internet culture. On the anniversary of her younger sister’s death, high-schooler Rosie creates a fake online profile through which she hopes to snare the man she believes is responsible for sexploiting her sister. In her hunt to bring him to justice, she becomes increasingly unhinged, willing to take drastic measures. What starts off as a valiant effort to make sense of the tragedy and avenge her sister slowly turns into something much darker. With stunning performances by Marc Menchaca (Ozark/The Outsider) and newcomer, Sarah Rich, the layers peel back, making us consider when does the victim become the perpetrator? Will justice prevail? With this look into the shadows of the virtual world the moral implications of Rosie’s actions will leave the viewer with many questions, where nothing is quite what it seems. It’s been called a feminist horror masterpiece, minus the blood and guts you’ll usually find in the genre. If you like twist-filled-revenge-thrillers, this is the movie to watch.
