Everyman Ma Yi, who raises ants as a hobby, is arrested without explanation by the Hong Kong government - and attempts to understand his mysterious crime.
Ren Xia, majoring in Directing, graduated from Hong Kong Academy for performing arts in 2012. His graduate project Circle Monkey was awarded the Silver Prize at The CAM Short Film Festival 2013 and was a Selected Film for China Focus-Short Films Category at Poitiers Film Festival 2014 while A Memory, another work of Ren, won the Best Direction & Best Script at the 9th Tech-Ex Cup International University Student Video Contest in 2014. After graduating, Ren worked as a continuity supervisor and a contract scriptwriter for American Dreams in China, a 2013 film directed by Chan Ho-sun Peter. He also worked with Hong Kong director Fruit Chan as a scriptwriter and an assistant director. His short Even Ants Strive For Survival was awarded the Best Film and Best Cinematography at the 11th Fresh Wave International Short Film Festival. Ren is now a contract director and a supervisor of the creative team at Infinitus Films HK.
