Based on a story by acclaimed author James Lee Burke, "Winter Light" is a modern-day Western thriller starring Raymond J. Barry (Justified, Dead Man Walking), Vincent Kartheiser (Mad Men), Q'orianka Kilcher (The New World), Josh Pence (The Social Network) and Michael Bofshever (United 93).
The film tells the story of Roger Guidry (Barry), an aging college professor who unwittingly starts an escalating battle of wills when he confronts two hunters (Kartheiser and Pence) he finds trespassing on his property. As tension mounts, hunter and hunted become harder to distinguish, and Roger must choose what sort of man he will ultimately be.
BIO: Julian Higgins is a Los Angeles-based writer and director whose work has been seen around the globe. A graduate of the American Film Institute, Julian won the 2011 Student Academy Award for his AFI thesis film, "Thief". The short played at over fifty festivals worldwide and won twenty-six prizes. On the strength of "Thief", Julian made his television directing debut at the age of 26, with one of the final episodes of the long-running drama series "House". More recently, Julian wrote and directed "Here And Now", starring Abigail Spencer and Josh Pence, which was selected by Ron Howard as the winner of Canon's "Project Imagination" Film Contest. He is currently developing his first feature.
