This short film tells the story of Stanhope, a young teenager from a single parent home. He has an active imagination and escapes by reading and drawing comic book sketches. His mom Denise struggles to stay afloat with five kids and works two jobs to make ends meet, as a result Stanhope spends a great deal of time with his Grandmother. One day she agrees to buy him his first skateboard and what happens next changes the course of Stanhope's life when his morals take a tragic turn.
BIO: Solvan "Slick" Naim is an Algerian-American, award-winning filmmaker and rapper from Bushwick, Brooklyn. His first film, "Full Circle", has sold out in festivals across the country and won 5 awards, including the Audience Award for Best Feature in HBO's "Urbanworld" and New York City International Film Festival. The buzz around "Full Circle" was so large that it secured both domestic and international distribution and is currently available nationwide on VOD, Netflix and all digital outlets. His newest short, "Stanhope", recently won best feature at the HBO short festival. He is known for mixing different genres of music within his films, specializing in mixing drama with comedy.
