9 PIANOS World Premiere
Plays Woodstock Film Festival
(Woodstock, NY) Sept. 16, 2011:
Gillian Farrell's "9 Pianos" will make its world premiere at the 2011 Woodstock Film Festival on September 23 at 5pm. The doc follows Adam Markowitz, a piano dealer and tuner from New York's Hudson Valley, who felt compelled to aid the victims of Hurricane Katrina by hand delivering 9 pianos to New Orleans with the help of his dog, Walter.
“The film is peppered with terrific spontaneous performances as the overwhelmed musicians receive their musical bounty” said Farrell who is “an actor by choice, a teacher by chance and a director by necessity.” She has produced, directed and acted in dozens of plays, movies and videos, often on political subjects.
The film will be preceded by a screening of Meera Gandhi's "Giving Back."
