WOODSTOCK FILM FESTIVAL’S “NOT SO SILENT” AUCTION GETS ROLLING
A smattering of global influence will converge at the Woodstock Film Festival Summer Benefit Gala and Auction, where Bob Dylan meets a movie premiere, Muhammad Ali challenges George Harrison and a night at the super classy Mohonk Mountain Resort confronts Nero Wolfe.
The auction has already begun bidding online, and most items will end bidding on July 14, with the notable exception of a signed and dedicated poster by legendary artist Peter Max. That auction will end June 20. To check out the goods and bid on an item, go to www.woodstockfilmfestival.com
With a myriad of heavy hitting donors and an expansive variety of auction items, the auction is a sure draw for all. Items include VIP tickets to the New York premiere of “Becoming Jane,” Broadway tickets, Lem barstools (winner of FX International Design Award), photographs from Elliott Landy, Barry Feinstein and Ken Regan, an autographed copy of the Academy Award winning screenplay “Philadelphia,” furniture, organic treats, jewelry, soaps and much more.
“There is something wonderful for everyone,” said Meira Blaustein, WFF co-founder and executive director. “It will be a great success for all involved.”
The auction is a fundraiser for the Woodstock Film Festival and Hudson Valley Film Commission. To be held at the Wiltwyck Country Club in Kingston on Saturday July 14, the Gala begins at 6:30 p.m. Dinner, dancing and drinks will round out the evening.

The ‘fiercely independent’ event will include more than 150 films, panels, concerts, and special events that will be featured at venues in Woodstock and the neighboring towns of Rhinebeck, Hunter, and Rosendale. Over the years, the Woodstock Film Festival has established itself as one of the best independent film events in the country by premiering exceptional films, hosting the most talented emerging and established professionals in the movie industry, presenting A-list concerts, parties and panels, and creating stimulating year-round programming.
The Woodstock Film Festival is a not-for-profit organization with a mission to present an annual program and year-round schedule of film, music, and art-related activities that promotes artists, culture, inspired learning, and diversity. The Hudson Valley Film Commission promotes sustainable economic development by attracting and supporting film, video and media production in the Hudson Valley-Catskills.
