WOODSTOCK FILM FESTIVAL, HUDSON VALLEY PROGRAMMERS GROUP UNLEASHES THE MITCH SHOW IN JUNE (Woodstock NY) – May 17, 2007: This summer, the Woodstock Film Festival Film Series sponsored by Kevin A Cahill and the Hudson Valley Programmers Group present some serious comedy in the Catskills, courtesy of a man who claims to be Paris Hilton's former housemate. No, not Henny Youngman. Meet Mitchell Rose. Irreverent, self-deprecating and possibly just plain loony, Mitchell Rose brings THE MITCH SHOW to the Bearsville Theater on Sunday, June 3rd (Visit www.hvpg.org for other scheduled dates in Albany and Poughkeepsie). The collection of comic short films is part of the Hudson Valley Programmers Group and is being presented in Woodstock with the WFF Film Series, sponsored by Assemblyman Kevin A. Cahill (D – Ulster, Dutchess). Doors open at 7:30pm and Cahill will be on hand to introduce the film. "In the tradition of… The Beatles... Charlie Chaplin... and William Shakespeare... ...the work of Mitchell Rose doesn't suck." But The Mitch Show is more than just a retrospective of offbeat comic short films spanning the oeuvre of the artiste, it's a film/performance mashup. Not only does Mitchell present his hilarious, innovative films, but he also leads several comic audience-participation performance pieces. The result is pure cineformatainment. "Mr. Rose is a rare and wonderful talent," pronounces The New York Times, the heaviest newspaper in the world. And all this… can be yours!
