Directed by Davis Guggenheim (AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH) GRACIE, starring Oscar-nominated Elisabeth Shue, Carly Schroeder, Dermot Mulroney and Andrew Shue. Set in 1978 and inspired by the Shue family’s real life events, GRACIE is the inspirational, touching story of a sixteen-year-old girl, who, after a family tragedy changed her life, fought for and won the right for girls everywhere to play competitive soccer. Clearly a labor of love, both Elisabeth and Andrew Shue also served as co-producers.
This special screening of GRACIE comes a month prior to the Picturehouse film’s theatrical release on June 1st. Producer Lemore Syvan and select cast and crew will head the post screening Q&A session, hosted by Filmmaker Magazine Senior Editor Peter Bowen.
“Lemore Syvan is a long-time supporter of the Woodstock Film Festival and we are happy to support her and to show GRACIE as part of our special series,” said Festival Co-Founder and Executive Director Meira Blaustein. “We were honored to have included THE BALLAD OF JACK AND ROSE, another Syvan film, as part of our previous year-round screenings. We love to support Lemore, not mention the work of Davis Guggenheim, who’s INCONVENIENT TRUTH is such a great example of the kind of films we strive to promote.”
Tickets are still available for the April 5th screening of BEFORE THE MUSIC DIES at The Bearsville Theater, with special introduction by Kate Pierson of the B-52’s and live music by Bret Mosley. Call 679-4265 or visit http://woodstockfilmfestival.com/fundraising/b4musicdies.php for tickets.
