LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE’s Alan Arkin won Best Supporting Actor accolades at both the Independent Spirit Awards and the Academy Awards, in the latter of which it also won Best Original Screenplay. At the Independent Spirit Awards, the film won Best Feature, Best Director and Best First Screenplay. Both award shows took place on February 24 and 25, respectively.
Julia Loktev received the IFC/Acura Someone to Watch Award at the Spirit Awards for DAY NIGHT DAY NIGHT, which won the Best Feature Narrative at the 2006 WFF.
Other Oscar-nominated films that were part of the 2006 Woodstock Film Festival include THE ILLUSIONIST, JESUS CAMP, AFTER THE WEDDING (audience award at WFF 2006), DAYS OF GLORY and BINTA AND THE GREAT IDEA (which won the Diane Seligman Award for Best Short at Woodstock in 2005)
