A-LIST INDIE PARTICIPANTS

Aidan Quinn to present Maverick Award to Steve Buscemi
Ethan Hawke to present Trailblazer Award to John Sloss

(Woodstock, NY) September 26, 2005 – In just two days the 2005 Woodstock Film Festival kicks off its 6th year with a slate of extremely diverse “fiercely independent” films including the Opening Films “Winter Passing” and “Dead Man’s Shoes,” the Centerpiece Film: “Fateless,” and the Closing Films: “Lonesome Jim” and “Where The Truth Lies,” The more than 150 films will be accompanied by power house panels, one-of-a-kind live concerts and a star-studded awards show. The Woodstock Film Festival runs from Wednesday, September 28th through Sunday, October 2nd.

Expected Key Festival Participants and Attendees Include: Steve Buscemi, Ethan Hawke, Aidan Quinn, Kevin Bacon, Michael Bacon, John Sloss, Ted Hope, Sara Driver, Fisher Stevens, Bill Paxton, David Schwimmer, Janeane Garofalo, Jim Jarmusch, Donal Logue, Anne Walker-McBay, Whit Stillman, Peter Saraf, Leon Gast, Morgan J. On Sunday, October 2nd, at the Bearsville Theatre, the 2005 Woodstock Film Festival
Awards Ceremony will include Aidan Quinn presenting the annual Maverick Award to Steve Buscemi, Ethan Hawke presenting the inaugural Trailblazer Award to John Sloss ( www.woodstockfilmfestival.com/pdf/maverickawards.pdf) and the presentations of the Maverick Awards for Excellence in Film Editing, the Haskell Wexler Award for Best Cinematography, Best Narrative Feature, Best Feature Documentary, Best Short Narrative, Best Short Documentary, Best Animated Short and Best Student Short. Additional presenters include Fisher Stevens, Melissa Leo,
Bill Plympton, and jury members Anne Walker-McBay, Peter Saraf, Leon Gast, Ellen Kuras, Jeremiah Newton, Sabine Hoffman, and director, Morgan J. Freeman. PANELS:
The Woodstock Film Festival has lured an impressive group of participants to its 2005 Panels. In nine panels ranging in topic (“Horror! Modern-Day Catharsis & Box Office Bonanza,” “Film Story Screenwriting,” “The Actor’s Dialogue,” “Indie Film Revival,” “Reality Show: Politics, film and Real Life,” “From Novel to Screen,” “Post Post/Pre-Distribution: PR, Film Festival Strategy, Marketing and Selling Your Indie Film,” “BMI’s Music For Film,” and “Amazing Women in Film”) participants include Kevin Bacon, Michael Bacon, Ted Hope, Bill Paxton, David Schwimmer, Janeane Garofalo, Donal Logue, Andrew Hurwitz, Bingham Ray, Bob Berney, Mark Urman, Michelle Byrd, Debra Zimmerman, William Greaves, Larry Fessenden, and Ellen Kuras, Ron Mann, Thelma Adams, Eugene Hernandez, David D’Arcy, Seth Carmichael, Liesl Koplan, Jeanne Berney, Lewis Lapham, Kyle Henry, Heidi Ewing, and Rachel Boyton.

CONCERTS:
Evening concerts at the Woodstock Film Festival is another element that sets the event apart. The Fest will open on Wednesday, September 28th at the Bearsville Theatre with a rare jam session with Bernie Worell and The Strangers (with Living Colours Will Calhoun and Doug Wimbish). The band will also be joined by legendary keyboardist Danny Louis of Gov’t Mule. The concert begins at 8:00 PM with tickets on sale now at the Woodstock Playhouse Box Office and at www.woodstockfilmfestival.com.

On Friday, September 30th at Woodstock’s Colony Café, The Cassettes with Bradford Reed will perform starting at 8:00 PM with tickets available at the Woodstock Playhouse Box-office and at www.woodstockfilmfestival.com.

On Saturday, October 1st at the Colony Café, BMI and WACBIZ present their “See It Hear First” Concert series with Duncan Sheik and Spooky Ghost joined by Pamela Sue Mann and others.
