About Us

FOUNDATION SUPPORT:
The Woodstock Film Festival is looking for foundation partners to further accomplish its mission of presenting an annual and year-round schedule of film, music, and art-related activities that promote artists, culture, inspired learning, and diversity.

Specialty programs including the youth initiative, exposure, focus on music and year round events, are ideally suited for foundation support.

Youth Initiative:
Since its inception as an educational not-for-profit organization, the Woodstock Film Festival has been committed to youth and education as a means to positive development, conflict resolution and growth opportunity.

In addition to providing classes and internships for local schools, the Woodstock Film Festival has presented special workshops and seminars designed to stimulate and to provide resources not readily available in the local area. Additionally, local film production opportunities, made available through the WFF’s Film Commission have provided career opportunities.

Exposure:
For over one-hundred years, Woodstock has been a place of dreams and ideas for art, political philosophy and alternative lifestyles. To honor and build on these traditions, the Woodstock Film Festival presents Exposure, a program which features panels, think tanks, live concerts, and thought-provoking international films that emphasize social, political and environmental concerns.

By hosting
Exposure in a setting that has a longstanding tradition for social consciousness, the Woodstock Film Festival creates a natural progression by which programming can focus on matters that affect our lives and our world while seeking to heighten awareness and to stimulate dialogue and positive resolution.

Focus on Music:
With this heritage as its ancestry, the Woodstock Film Festival has made music an integral part of its programming. WFF’s Focus on Music: showcases films about music and musicians while actively exploring its role in film. Many emphasize music as a powerful tool for expression and conflict resolution. Through workshops and seminars, the festival  also emphasizes film scoring, and live concerts are also presented featuring musicians with links to films in the program.

Year Round Events:
Special events, such as screenings, productions and workshops, take place year-round in NYC, Albany, and across the Hudson Valley.
A partnership with the IFC center and other special screenings have included films like My Generation, When We Were Kings, The Painted Veil, Little Miss Sunshine, and The Illusionist, to name just a few.
