Produced by Hudson Valley production company BCDF, the fim stars local resident and Academy Award winner Melissa Leo as well as Academy Award nominee Jesse Eisenberg and Tracy Morgan. The comedy follows the exploits of piano prodigy Eli Smith (Eisenberg) whose tremendous talents are constantly hindered by his mother’s (Leo) self-implosions. Now on the verge of entering a prestigious music program, Eli must get his mother into rehab and prepare for his big audition. Things however don’t go as planned as he must enlist his mother’s drug dealer (Morgan) to help him carry out his plans. Events begin to spin out of control as this mismatched crew must navigate one twist and turn after another to hilarious effect.

Why Stop Now was written and directed by Woodstock native Phil Dorling and Hudson Valley Academy Award nominee Ron Nyswaner. The film and is loosely based on their short film Predisposed, which screened at the 2008 Woodstock Film Festival. A Q&A will follow the screening with select members of the cast and crew.
