The Hudson Valley Film Commission (HVFC) is a non-profit organization that provides free services to promote and develop film production and job oppotunities in the Hudson Valley and Catskill region. The organization is fully prepared to act as a conduit for preproduction, production, and postproduction. for filmmaking . HVFC, through it's affiliation with the Woodstock Film Festival, attracts filmmakers from around the world to the region and provides support throughout the year to studio features, independent features, print, new media, short films, and television shows and ads.

In 2005, HVFC worked with more than 34 production companies including the films THE NIGHT LISTENER, starring Robin Williams, and STEPHANIE DALEY, with Tilda Swinton and Melissa Leo. Work opportunities resulted in jobs, training, and economic development.

In 2006, HVFC has already worked with five feature films including RACING DAYLIGHT starring David Strathairn and Melissa Leo, THE CAKE EATERS, directed by Mary Stuart Masterson, and SUPERHEROES.

For six years, the Woodstock Film Festival has created what is considered by many to be one of the best film festivals in the United States. To accomplish this we have relied on sweat equity from staff and more than 350 volunteers, along with begging and borrowing much of the hi-tech equipment we require.
