SYNOPSIS:
When 6-year-old Alice is told by her mother that her father has become a "beast," she starts to question who or what she really is.
BIO:
Leonora Lonsdale is a British filmmaker who studied at NYU Tisch's graduate film program with a Tisch & Johnson scholarship. Her latest short, a gothic fairytale entitled Beast, stars Billie Piper and was funded by the BFI NET.work and Creative England's Emerging Talent fund. The film won Best Drama Short at the Voice of A Woman Film Festival at Cannes Lions 2018 and has been selected for Oscar-qualifying festivals Hollyshorts, Show Me Shorts and Bermuda Film Festival amongst others. Leonora's previous work has been nominated for a Student Academy Award & the Liberty Global Student Award, won a Hollywood Foreign Press Association grant & screened at festivals including Aspen Shortsfest, Palm Springs Shortsfest, Austin Film Festival, & more.
