Virtual Reality Experiences
Tyler Hurd, Kevin Mack, Joel Ogden, Chuck Tsung-Han Lee Matt Hermans USA / 2017 / minutes
Times and Venues:
The Woodstock Film Festival is pleased to present a selection of four virtual reality pieces. Virtual Reality is the next phase of storytelling for creators and artists. It's an exciting new medium that must be experienced to be understood. We will be presenting room scale experiences using HTC VIVE.
The installation is organized and curated by
, an Emmy award-winning set decorator, VR artist, and Hudson Valley local, and
Dario Laverde, a virtual reality expert at HTC VIVE.
Each experience ranges from 3-8 minutes. Each ticket holder will get to try 1 to 4 experiences on a first come, first served basis, during the one-hour block of time that they have reserved.
Virtual Reality experiences to be featured include:
This VR music video experience for the song Chocolate by Giraffage sets you in a cat-centric world of sparkling colorful chrome with a tribe of people doing a ritualistic dance just for you, their robot god, to provide them with their precious resource, cute lil' chrome kitties.
is a person. A person who created a delightful little VR short film called BUTTS and a nonsensically joyful VR music video for Future Islands8 song Old Friend, which premiered at Tribeca 2016 and the critics seemed to enjoy. Tyler is a person who is happy when things are not serious. And most notably, a person who writes bios about himself in the 3rd person.
Take a break from reality and explore an animated psychedelic sculpture park. Wander through the labyrinth,
soar across the open space, or just hang out and let the mesmerizing ever-changing sculptures provide a rejuvenating
refuge for your mind. Blortasia combines art and flying in virtual reality.
Kevin Mack is a virtual reality artist, founder of Shape Space VR, and an Academy Award winning visual effects pioneer.
