SYNOPSIS:
I decided to study Physics in college because, since childhood I have been enchanted by the idea of perfection. However, while seeking a rational world, irrationality shadows every step of my journey. Is this a pursuit destined to end in a dilemma?
BIO:
Shixie (Xiangjun Shi) is an animator, documentary filmmaker, and world traveler. Being an immigrant since a tender age, and having lived in China, Russia, UK, and now the US, Shixie is determined to break down the communication barriers between people through her works, across cultures or academic fields. Her attention to implicit, subtle emotions is notable, especially in the animation works, often through a minimalistic expression. She is versatile in a wide variety of animation mediums, ranging from classical hand drawn to 3D CGI. Shixie is currently an animator at Slanted Studios in Brooklyn, NY, working on projects for clients including Adult Swim and Daptone Record. Shixie is bilingual, proficient in English and Mandarin Chinese, and speaks conversational Russian. Graduated in 2013 with B.A. in Physics from Brown University, and B.F.A. in Film/Animation/Video from Rhode Island School of Design.
