Award-winning documentarian Adrian Wills' new film captures one of those rare and beautiful times in history when two of the greatest groups of artists to ever live come together to create one outstanding show. Fueled by a dream from George Harrison and Cirque du Soleil director Guy Laliberte comes "Love," a visual and musical circus spectacular. Beautifully documented through breathtaking rehearsal footage and often hilarious interviews with all parties involved (including the two surviving Beatles), "All Together Now" tells the tale of passion and perspiration that goes into preparing the latest Cirque show. Laliberte, in consultation with The Beatles' estate, works to build a beautiful new piece of work through a series of innovative ideas that include hiring longtime Beatles producer Sir George Martin to create a new soundtrack limited to mixing and matching recordings only from the original sessions. The results are undeniably enjoyable, and "All Together Now" is a film for every Beatles or circus fan alive today. (Mike Lerman)
In both his documentaries and fiction, Adrian Wills reveals emotionally intimate human stories. His films have played on ABC, CBC, Bravo!, Radio Canada, TV5 Monde, ARTV, TFO and Direct TV as well as at numerous film festivals. With a B.F.A. in Film Production and a B.A. in Media Studies, he has written and directed short fiction films on Alzheimer's and problem gambling, and directed critically acclaimed documentaries on the surf guitarist Dick Dale (Pulp Fiction), the National Circus School, opera singers, and the globally renowned Quebecois author and playwright Michel Tremblay. For the past five years, Adrian has worked extensively for Cirque du Soleil as a freelance documentary director. "All Together Now," is his first feature-length documentary. His last two documentaries, "Corteo: Behind the Curtain" and "In the Hands of Michel Tremblay," were nominated for four Gumaux Awards in Quebec, including Best Film in each of their categories. Adrian also won Best Director for "In the Hands of Michel Tremblay." Adrian is a recent graduate of the Canadian Film Centre and is currently enrolled in their Director's Lab shooting a short dramatic film entitled "The Hunt." He is also developing "Quiet," his first feature-length dramatic film.
