SYNOPSIS:
Three old friends, determined to get out of the city, set off for a hunting trip in the woods of rural Delaware. Taking their time, they carefully survey the scene, looking for wild game, while drinking beer and discussing their home lives. But when a surprisingly horrific incident occurs, their lives are changed forever. In a kind of nightmarish version of "The Fugitive" mixed with "Diner," Ti West, director of "The Roost," shifts gears slightly for this buddy movie cum high-octane thriller. West's new film deals more with real-world terrors. Featuring a cameo from producer Larry Fessenden, Trigger Man is a chase film with a visceral, verite approach to horror. (Michael Lerman)
BIO:
Ti West was born in Wilmington, DE. He attended the School of Visual Arts, where he was given access to 16mm film cameras and the opportunity to make short films. By the age of twenty-two he already successfully sold one of his short films and won the award for Best Director of a Student Film in the 2001 NY International Independent, Film & Video Festival.
After earning his BFA in Film, Ti set out to make his first feature film with executive producer, Larry Fessenden. "The Roost," written and directed by Ti, was produced with a minimal budget and has found success in its own right. It went on to premiere at SXSW in 2005 and released theatrically later that same year. It is now available on DVD.
"Trigger Man" marks Ti West's second feature film collaboration with producer Larry Fessenden. West is currently directing "Cabin Fever 2" for Lions Gate Films. He plans to write and direct for Fessenden's Scareflix banner again in the near future.
