Two Hollywood fringe players befriend each other on the set of a C-production. Danny Macklin (Donal Logue), the slightly more successful of the two, loses his wife, his TV show, and almost his mind in quick succession. His friend Gary Morgan (Kirk Fox) attempts to save him by re-igniting his passion for the game of tennis by introducing him to the world of celebrity tournaments. In reclaiming his sense of self, he must confront his mortal enemy in comedy and in the world of celebrity tennis: Johnny Green (Jason Isaacs). |
Donal Logue, who is famous for his role as Jimmy the cab driver on MTV promos, is nothing like the greasy typical Boston cabby he portrays. Raised in El Centro, California, he was ASB president at his local high school, and went on to attend Harvard University. Although he had always considered himself a writer, his interest in theater was sparked at Harvard. He studied at the British-American Drama Academy in London, and performed in many plays before getting his break in Sneakers. From there he went on to perform in movies such as LITTLE WOMEN, AN EYE FOR AN EYE, and DISCLOSURE. Even today, Logue enjoys writing almost more than acting. He writes the Jimmy the cab driver promos. "With acting, you gotta wait until someone gives you a role in a play or movie", says Logue. "With writing, you're not dependent on others, you don't have to wait. You can sit down and just create."
