CLOSING NIGHT GALA
Due to the 9/11 tragedy, Chris Thomas King will regretfully not be able to perform. Levon Helm (formerly of The Band), special guests and the retrorockets will perform in his stead at 9 pm on Sunday, Sept. 23.

Join us at the Bearsville Theater for the closing gala with great food, drink and music. Our Special musical guest will be Chris Thomas King (O Brother, Where Art Thou?, Down From the Mountain) will present his 21st Century Blues. Special guests, including the Retrorockets will also entertain.

2001 has been a breakthrough year for Chris Thomas King. First, his critically acclaimed acting debut as Robert Johnson in the Coen Brothers’ Oscar nominated movie O Brother where Art thou?, then the success of the masterful soundtrack to the movie, which was captured by famed documentarians D.A Pennebaker and Chris Hegedus in conjunction with Nick Doob in the film Down From the Mountain.

Combining live instrumentation and blues directions with the immediacy of rap and hip hop, the New Orleans musician has carved his reputation with brilliant lyrics and a unique musical style that puts him at the leading edge of blues and hip hop.

Food will be provided by local eateries including: Blue Mountain Bistro, Heaven Restaurant and Catering, Joshua’s Restaurant and Caterers, Wok ‘n Roll Chinese.
